Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge that we are meeting on the traditional Country of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains and pay respect to Elders past and present.
We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship with the land. We acknowledge that they are of continuing importance to the Kaurna people living today. And we also extend that respect to other Aboriginal Language Groups and other First Nations.
Welcome to HWRS 2026.
On behalf of the Organising Committee and the National Committee on Water Engineering, I am delighted to invite you to Sydney for the 44th Hydrology and Water Resources Symposium.
This year’s Symposium Theme is: “HWRS2026 – From source to sea”.
HWRS2026 will attract a diverse range of high-quality papers that will be presented as podium and poster presentations. Over the three days of the symposium, delegates will report on topics covering the spectrum of engineering hydrology (science to application) and the progress made in understanding the uncertainties facing water resources managers now and in the coming decades. This will provide insight on dealing with these challenges from all perspectives.
